You are here: Home / Toolbox / User Generated Content

When visitors come to your site, its important to think about ways to engage them in conversation - whether encouraging them to comment, contact you, share on social media - or even better, contribute their own content to your website. If visitors feel like they've contributed something to the site - or even just knowing that they can - they'll be more likely to come back to check out what you've been up to and share with their friends.

Allowing people to submit posts, photos or other media from the front end can also be useful to make it easier for regular contributors, who might avoid logging in to your site to post content - saving them the hassle of logging in and you the hassle of cutting and pasting from their emails.

You can allow users to post content to your website using User Submitted Posts (freemium), Cred or Gravity Forms (premium) among other tools.

We've used User Submitted Posts on whatsbehindjnf.org to allow users to add their photo message - publicly adding their voice to the website's campaign, as well as at South Central Silkwood allowing (logged in) users to easily embed maps.
