Aviva had a nice bespoke theme made in 2010 but 11 years later, fixing glitches, and getting the site working responsively for her amazing smartphone performances was no longer the best option. We built a new theme showcasing her eclectic body of work, and finding ways to incorporate her past archive while focusing on her […]
Virtual Private Server Hosting is a fantastic solution for small to medium websites. Rather than paying a monthly charge to keep your single website running, we pay for a larger Virtual Machine that is shared between many sites. Using VPS hosting in combination with a Content Distribution Network means that the low cost doesn't necessarily mean a compromise in speed.
We use Dreamhost VPS as it is a low cost company committed to Open Source software, and also show their environmental conciousness by offsetting their servers carbon emmissions.
See the websites we've built on our VPS below:
Blockade Australia
We put together this simple site using WordPress, the Miyazaki theme and Action Network. Anders Noren’s themes are a go-to for me, they always look modern, cool and clean, and the templates are really straightforward to work out what’s what. And this one works really nicely with Gutenberg. Reallly stoked to be working with folks […]
FoE Asia Pacific
FoE Asia Pacific had put together a site in Divi, we just helped realise their design. We integrated some more dynamic content blocks into the Divi theme editor to keep their site more dynamic and up to date, helped set up a mailing list. Unusually, this site is hosted on WordPress.com, which I’ve never used […]
Goongerah Survives
Like the rest of the world I’m completely terrified by the climate catastrophe that is the Australian bushfires of 2019-20. Its devastating. We made this website for material aid, donations, practical and emotional support for the residents and climate refugees of Goongerah and districts. All my love and solidarity for those on the frontlines who […]
Galilee Rising
Galilee Rising pledge to ‘step up and do what it takes to protect the climate, country, water and everyone’s future by stopping coal billionaires from digging up the Galilee Basin’ and ‘join and support peaceful protests on the frontline, and in our towns and cities, to stop the construction of Adani’s coal mine.’ I fully […]
The Adani List
Adani’s mega coal and rail project will trash First Nations land rights, drain critical water resources from drought stricken regions, risk our already distressed Great Barrier Reef and fuel runaway global warming that threatens all our lives and livelihoods. But its not just the Adani Company thats involved in building it, heaps of companies are […]
Unisuper Divest
Would you believe that the superfund for academics, teachers and researchers at universities has their members money invested in fossil fuels? I can’t compute. Anyway, we made this website with Market Forces to force Unisuper to take action.
Supina Bytol
This is a quick artist portfolio site we whipped up, which sadly wasn’t kept online by the artist. Supina’s diverse and inventive body of work couldn’t be represented by just one colour, so we made the colours change each time you reload the page. Hopefully this keeps it fresh. Not sure though what’s your opinion?
Hands Off Public Housing
Hands Off Public Housing needed an easy to use, friendly website to inform the community of the planned sell off of public housing to private developers – about which the Victorian government has provided little real information. We put WordPress and Divi to quickly put together this campaign site.
Zumba with Charlie
Charlie gives a fun and extra energetic twist to teaching Zumba, so we wanted that to come across in an extra colourful, slightly kooky website design which we achieved using the Divi theme builder. We quickly came up with a cool concept for the logo, colours, images and design and it came together nicely. While […]
The Memoir Salon
We put this website together using Elegant Theme’s page builder ‘Divi’ in combination with custom fields and post types to make updating the site with monthly events as user friendly as possible. Custom queries for Upcoming/Previous events make this website more dynamic and easy to maintain than a standard page builder design.
Young Shaman Foundation
YSF had a unique new project idea to guide young people through shamanic experiences. We came up with a site that presented their idea in a friendly, safe and inspiring way, while being flexible for future adaptations as their project grows. The Young Shaman Foundation project and website has been retired
